About the Role
The Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is able to develop and implement financial policies and procedures, provide financial analysis and guidance to the executive team, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Corporate Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the executive team.
Key Responsibilities:
~ Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
~ Oversee the accounting function, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
~ Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including revenue and expense projections
~ Provide financial analysis and guidance to the executive team to support strategic decision-making
~ Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers
~ Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements, including sales tax, income tax, and payroll tax
~ Manage the cash flow and treasury function, including cash management and forecasting
~ Develop and implement internal controls and processes to mitigate financial risk
~ Hire, train, and manage a team of accounting and finance professionals
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
10+ years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and IFRS
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial policies and procedures, and manage a team of accounting professionals
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide financial analysis and guidance to the executive team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Experience in the legal or technology industries preferred
